Moliceiro is the name of the boats that circulate in the Ria de Aveiro. This vessel was originally used for harvesting of seaweed, but currently most used for tourism purposes. It is a work boat for harvesting of seaweed, which was the main source to fertilizing farmland of Aveiro.
It is one of the symbols of Aveiro, in conjunction with the "Moles" eggs and the University of Aveiro. It is considered the most elegant boat in the area, despite the colorful decorations.
